I’m usually a purist when it comes to burgers, but I love how these burgers came out!! I tested the burgers with both lean ground beef and ground chicken since I had both on hand, and I loved them equally. My husband’s not eating carbs this week so he ate two beef burgers without the bun.
Variations:
Meat: Swap the ground beef for ground turkey, ground chicken, buffalo, black bean patties, veggie burgers, etc. Buns: Swap the buns and make them into lettuce wraps or serve over a salad. Dairy-free: Leave the cheese out or use dairy-free cheese.

Fries – A classic side dish. We love our burgers paired with seasoned oven fries or air fryer sweet potato fries. Salad – No cookout is complete without a side of homemade potato salad or my lightened-up macaroni salad. I also love to serve my burgers “naked” (without the bun), over a bed of fresh leaves. Grilled Veggies – Serve with grilled zucchini or grilled potatoes. Coleslaw – Try this homemade cole slaw recipe or this quick cabbage slaw served on the side.
